A Dose of Monday Motivation

If you read last week’s blog post, you probably saw the part about my undying love for Brené Brown. Seriously, friends. If you haven’t watched the video I posted in the blog last week, go back and do it.

But for now, stay with me, because I have another to-die-for video by Brené that I want to share with all of you.

This one is called, “Why Your Critics Aren’t the Ones Who Count.

As creatives, we’ve all had experiences with critics. It’s part of the job. In this video, Brené is talking to us directly - a whole audience of creatives.

In this talk, she explores her evolution as a creative person, shares some experiences she’s had with internet critics, and explains how she handles being seen, being vulnerable, and being courageous enough to put herself and her work out into the world.

I know you can relate to that terrifying feeling of putting yourself and your work out there.

Our work feels so personal, because it’s a part of us that we’re giving to the world. Sharing our creative work will always attract critics. We can’t control them. What we can control is our mindset and our courage to do the work and put it out into the world.

I want to encourage all of you to be brave enough to get out there and be seen today and every day.

Now get out there, do what you do best, and get stuff done!
