Have you ever had a dream so big that it scares you? It can take you to places you've never imagined. It’s one of the questions I ask myself every single day as a multi-passionate creative entrepreneur.
The dream of opening my own business was something I never thought possible. After becoming a young single mother, spending 15+ years in the mortgage business, and going through an incredibly painful infertility journey, Modern Day became part of my life's story that dreams do really come true. It's beautiful how God used my pain and struggles to birth such a beautiful thing - a true labor of love.
It didn’t take long after I opened my little flower shop for me to realize that what I loved about flowers was not necessarily the vibrant colors or heavenly scents, but rather, the way I was able to touch people through the flowers I designed. Suddenly it all clicked - my true passion in life wasn’t just about design, it was about inspiring and connecting with people.
Slowly but surely, we continued to build Modern Day to what you see today, a full service event design and planning company, along with our sister companies, Greencrest Manor and The Millhaven. I was, and continue to be relentless with trusting my gut and following my heart in running my companies. Thankfully because of the dedicated and talented team I have in place to run the daily operations at Modern Day, I have created space in my world to fulfill this dream of creating not only one, but two luxury event venues!
So here I am today at this new stage of life and feeling an overwhelming need to give back, to share my years of experience in hopes of making a positive impact for wedding and event creatives just like you! Consider me your cheerleader, your confidant and counselor, the person who will give you a shoulder to cry on, and a swift kick when you need it. This road of entrepreneurship can be a lonely one, but you do NOT have to do it alone. I want to meet you where you are so together we can create a life and business you love! I'm here to tell you that the dream is possible.
