When Modern Day was asked to participate in Nathan English’s new photography workshop called Unveil, we didn’t know what to fully expect other than providing beautiful designs for his attendees to capture. What ensued was nothing short of pure magic. The passion, warmth, intimacy, and beauty that was produced was simply palpable and inspiring. I knew then and there that a workshop for event design professionals would mutually benefit in tandem with the next Unveil workshop. The wedding industry is constantly changing, and whether you’re a designer, planner, or florist, you have to always be on top of trends, changes, and nuances to create the ideal environment and aesthetic for each client.
With this three-night retreat, I’ll help you learn how to do just that on a much grander and more efficient scale.
This isn’t your typical retreat. Instead, this event was created with you in mind. Think intimate group chats, deep support from me, useful resources, and the kind of relaxation and creativity that only being in a luxurious space can provide. Even if you don’t have floral-specific experience, what you learn can be used within any business in the creative and events industry.
The Investment
Our enriching all-inclusive (lodging, food, beverage, teachings, design, resources) retreat is an investment of $1,250, with a required deposit of $500 to hold your spot. The remaining balance is due no later than February 1st.
Our maximum capacity is 12 individuals in order to provide a more intimate and authentic experience, with the understanding that some of the beautiful guest rooms have more than just one bed. If you would like your own private room, the additional fee would be $300.

The Itinerary
Sunday, February 10th - Early evening check-in (7:00pm), meet and greets, welcome cocktails, group chat and relaxation.
Monday, February 11th - Breakfast and lunch, group sessions led by Jenn, hands-on design time, casual dinner and cocktails with Unveil workshop attendees.
Tuesday, February 12th - Breakfast and lunch, design and photoshoot with Unveil workshop attendees all day, concluding with evening dinner at Unveil workshop’s property just a few miles away.
Wednesday, February 13th - Breakfast, final group sessions and networking led by Jenn, check-out and departures (12:00pm).

The Location
The retreat will take place at a 6,000 square foot, 7 bedroom, 6 bathroom property a stone’s throw from Lake Michigan, in New Buffalo, MI. This property is the epitome of understated luxury, with a great room and huge chef’s kitchen, 24-top dining table, tranquil bedrooms, game room, and even two hot tubs!
This amazing house is located in the heart of Union Pier (local shops and restaurants within easy walking distance) and promises the ultimate in a luxury experience. The closest airport locations would be in South Bend (40 min), Kalamazoo (1 hour), Chicago (1 hour, 15 min), or Grand Rapids (1 hour, 45 min).
